Don Proctor
is the Vice President and General Manager of the Voice
Technology Group at Cisco Systems. He is responsible for the
business units that develop Cisco’s enterprise and service
provider voice products, including IP PBX systems, IP phones,
voicemail and unified messaging products, rich media
conferencing and collaboration platforms, call center solutions,
carrier softswitches, and broadband application infrastructure
for service providers.
As VP/GM of the Voice Technology
Group, Don's responsibilities include setting the strategic
direction for Cisco voice products, providing operational
leadership for the product development process, and growing a
world-class leadership team that will position Cisco for
continued success in the voice market.
In addition to his general management responsibilities, Don
serves on the Cisco Women's Initiatives Steering Committee, the
Enterprise Business Council, and the IP Telephony Executive
Council, and is the executive sponsor for several key Cisco
customers.
Don joined Cisco in 1995 and has held a variety of positions
focused on Cisco's enterprise, service provider, and commercial
businesses. A graduate of the University of California at
Berkeley, Don has been an instructor in the Telecommunications
Engineering program at the UC Berkeley Extension since 1994, and
is a regular guest lecturer at the UC Berkeley Haas School of
Business.
